The difference between the Decimal print of the old die and the new die with the old £ symbol is visible in the top Left corner as a difference in the shading lines. In the old die it is a thicker squarer white space, in the new die it is a thinner elongated white space.

Discernable differences
The most easily detected difference for the £1.50 value is that the Enschede version has a faint broken white line immediately to the right of the stem of the figure I .This is absent from the De La Rue printing. (Enshede LHS, De La Rue RHS image)
The most easily detected difference for the £2.00 value in the Enschede version the dots under the £ sign appear to make a white line , while on the DLR die there is a slanting coloured line within the base of the sign as if the graver had slipped. (Enshede LHS, De La Rue RHS image)
The most easily detected difference for the £3.00 value is that the Enschede has a dark horizontal line in the lower curve of the figure 3 which is absent from the DLR die. (Enshede LHS, De La Rue RHS image)
The most easily detected difference for the £5.00 value is that the Enschede version has two joined dots under the curve of the £ sign, while there is only a single dot in the DLR printing. (Enshede LHS, De La Rue RHS image)
Under Longwave UV lighting the difference is quite striking, the Enschede gold shows up well. (The £3 is coming soon, in the post !)
